Rebates in Sullivan County

South of Lebanon: Claremont’s mill-era housing stock, the Connecticut River towns, and the ridge communities around Croydon and Grantham.

Every town in Sullivan County is served by NHSaves, the joint efficiency program funded by Eversource, Liberty Utilities, Unitil and the New Hampshire Electric Co-op. Which of those four sends your bill does not change the rebate — the schedule is identical across all of them.

Income-qualified households in Sullivan County access free weatherization through Southwestern Community Services, which covers 100% of the cost rather than 75%. That program is separate from the utility rebates and has its own application and waiting list.

What Sullivan County houses usually need

The pattern across this county is consistent enough to state plainly: the building envelope before the equipment. Pre-war houses here have empty wall cavities, an unsealed attic plane hidden behind plaster, and a stone or brick foundation under a cellar that was never meant to be dry. Air sealing and insulation address all three, carry the largest rebate on the board, and shrink the heating system you eventually need to buy.
